Chief Financial Officer
A fast-paced, established, and rapidly growing video, broadband, and telecommunications company is seeking an experienced candidate for the position of Chief Financial Officer.
The CFO supervises the entire finance unit and is the chief financial spokesperson for the organization. The primary role of a Chief Financial Officer includes driving company finances, performing risk management, and deciding on investment strategies.
The CFO reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer. They execute all the strategic and day-to-day matters relating to cost-benefit analysis, budget management, forecasting needs, and securing new funding.
Functions and Responsibilities
Prepare and present financial data: The CFO's primary responsibility is measuring, analyzing, and reporting accurate and timely company financial information. It includes but is not limited to working on annual financial reporting, corporate revenue/expense reporting, development, and monitoring organizational budgets and contracts.
Maintenance of capital structure: The CFO is responsible for the company’s overall financial health and how the company’s funds should be invested to make the financial position better. The position requires in-depth analysis of all factors such as risk, liquidity, market conditions, etc. The position also requires overall management of the capital structure of the company. The position requires knowledge and experience with the debt and equity measure ratio/balance for
the company so that the company’s funds are managed in the best possible manner.
Development of company financial security: The CFO is responsible for the company’s present and projected financial health and keeps an eye on the company’s future projected growth and financial health. The position requires the ability to identify the most efficient areas of the company and know how to capitalize on them.
Establishing and overseeing all internal monetary controls: Consistently working with all divisions and departments in determining and creating cost-effective budgetary controls and financial tracking mechanisms upon which to build sound monetary judgment.
Strategic Vision: The CFO works closely with the CEO of the company on the company’s long-term strategic vision, which includes fostering and cultivating new product planning, and market presence planning, across all levels of the company and assisting in their development.
Strategist: The CFO needs to understand the company’s perspective broadly. The role is not solely confined to the finance department. Must be strategic and act as more of a business partner in assisting the CEO.
Translator: Must be able to translate financial KPIs of the organization and all monetary information to the CEO and in turn execute the CEO’s vision into a financial business module.
Financial acumen: Must be able to analyze and report all financial information to the CEO and must have expertise in generating appropriate financial reports to bring financial clarity to all areas.
Communication: Must have the necessary communication ability and skills to develop all oral, and written information, conveying all financial(s) concepts to the CEO and when required the Board of Directors. Must have confidence sharing thought processes in disseminating all financial issues which include communicating with C-Suite colleagues and across the board to the company’s management team.
Broad technical knowledge: Must have broad technical knowledge along with financial management reporting methods, necessary in assessing higher levels of credit, investment, cash flow forecasting, and information of technology systems.
Risk manager: Must have proficiency in identifying, assessing, and responding to ongoing and or emerging risks to the company and also compliance with all regulatory reporting, taxation, and all state and federal corporate governance.
- A minimum of 10 years experience in an executive and or C-Suite role.
- CPA designation preferred.
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance and/or Business.
- Up-to-date knowledge of current financial and accounting computer applications.
- Excellent verbal, analytical, organizational, and written skills comparable to C-Suite level.
- Ability to strategize, problem-solve and make sound business decisions.
- Experience in developing budgets and financial plans.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with investment management and funding sources.
- Demonstrated success in financial planning and analysis, and tax
