Job Overview
This job is responsible for assisting in the management and coordination the Company’s compliance activities. Employees in this job provide interpretive guidance and training; and oversee the development of business unit controls for new regulations or new business initiatives.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensures content of compliance policies and procedures are up-to-date
- Maintains the Companys compliance intranet site as an education and informational sharing tool
- Assists managers in the development and delivery of compliance training
- Maintains all electronic files, reports, filed documents, etc. related to compliance activities
- Monitors compliance activities at regulatory agencies and informs managers, directors, and business units
- Communicates new or revised compliance documentation
- Provides oversight, analysis and guidance to employees and/or business units
- Prepares Executive Management Reports
- Performs spot checks of business unit controls, analyzes and presents results
- Conducts benchmarking research on best practices
- Works with the appropriate departments to gain agreement, makes changes, and revises the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics or Senior Officer Code as necessary
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree

Description
Job Purpose: Under limited supervision, ensures all Florida Public Service Commission (FPSC) regulatory requirements are effectively coordinated and met including compliance with rules, regulations and requirements. Includes planning, coordination and preparation of all filing requirements/responses in docketed proceedings/un-docketed matters (e.g., testimony, rate case minimum filing requirements (MFRs), discovery requests, audit requests, tariff filings, hearings, territorial agreements and other miscellaneous requests for information). Ensures that National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) safety audit variances identified by the FPSC are corrected and timely reported to the FPSC. Coordinates/prepares Distribution responses to state/federal regulatory/legislative actions/proposals. Identifies issues affecting the Company and develops/coordinates proposed Company strategies/responses for management/legal consideration/approval. Provides guidance/direction on regulatory matters within and outside the business unit. Required Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or High School Diploma/GED and equivalent work experience - 5+ years experience in regulatory matters (e.g., coordinate dockets, participate in rulemaking or other proceedings, prepare filings) - Expert ability with analysis and problem solving, commercial, and process/project management skills - Advance ability with communications, integrity and compliance, leadership, and professional skills Preferred Qualifications: - Masters Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field of study - Distribution experience - Regulatory experience Primary (Essential) Job Functions: (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary by the company.) - Develop plans and coordinate the timely preparation and submission of FPSC regulatory filings and responses (Docketed and non-docketed) - Provide regulatory support and guidance on rules, regulations, and filings - Conduct or participate in special studies and analysis concerning business unit operations and performance - Coordinate budget preparation and monitor budget performance for the Director of Employee and Customer Support - Monitor and resolve issues related to the satisfactory and timely resolution of NESC safety variances - Ability to meet attendance and storm duty requirements - Ability to work extended hours Secondary Job Functions: Performs other job-related duties as assigned Job Standards: Performance will be based on successful completion of all job functions up to the productivity standards and timeframes established and directed by Management.
