Job Summary
Partnering with company leadership, this position ensures that BAC and its employees are in compliance with policies and procedures that are aligned with employment law, business needs, mitigating risk, while reflecting the culture and values of the company. This position works directly with employees and with management to investigate and resolve employee relations issues in a timely manner and in compliance will all applicable rules, policies, regulations and laws. Work is performed independently under limited supervision with moderate latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment. Position typically requires processing and interpreting of more complex, less clearly defined issues.
Examples Of Essential Functions

- Partners with Management Staff and Employee Support Specialists in support of company policies and procedures and provide support on all aspects of employee relations.
- Develops and delivers training to Human Resources team members and managers on employee relations issues and serves as a subject matter expert on employee relations.
- Manages investigations and employee relations documentation including dispute resolution, disciplinary, grievances, appeals, restructuring/lay-offs, requests for employment termination and performance management.
- Compiles information for memorandums for record, Conduct Memos, and Employment Status Reviews. Makes recommendations for corrective actions, up to and including termination.
- Responsible for out-processing procedures for exiting staff; conducts exit interviews, completes turnover analysis, establishes retention strategies, and manages unemployment insurance claims.
- Conducts staff outreach to promote positive and effective employee relations
- Facilitates leadership’s performance management efforts through use of Conduct Memos, counseling, recommendations, issue-specific guidance and other measures.
- Conducts surveys to assess engagement and employee relations; conducts analysis of findings and makes recommendations to address issues; provides summary feedback to managers.
- Administers programs and activities to support employee engagement and morale initiatives.
- Administers and monitors leave of absence requests, policies and practices.
- Stays abreast of, monitors and works to ensure consistent compliance with applicable employment statutes and regulations (such as, Civil Rights Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, Immigration and Reform Act).
- Manages reasonable accommodation process under the ADA and other related laws.
- Manages extended leave and return to work accommodations requests, providing guidance to all involved.
Supervisory Responsibility
- Supervision of one filing clerk.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, education or another related field.
- Four (4) or more years of Employee Relations experience or HR Generalist experience with at least two of those years handling employee relations.
- A combination of education, certification and experience may satisfy the above requirements.
- Must satisfy Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Level 2 background screening requirements.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Must have a State issued driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical certification in human resources, training, education, or other related field.
- Experience working with Individuals with Disabilities.
- Five Years of Employee Relations experience.
- Labor Relations experience.
- Certification in Human Resources (i.e., PHR, SPHR, HRCI, etc.).

- Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Ability to correctly interpret and efficiently implement all applicable policies and procedures.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities to ensure that deadlines are met.
- Ability to regularly attend work and arrive punctually for designated work schedule.
TRAVEL
Local Travel to the worksites will be required on a periodic basis. Some overnight travel will be required, one or two times per year.
WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE (IF APPLICABLE)
Must be authorized to access and work on government installations.
Physical Requirements
Depending on the functional area of assignment, tasks involve the periodic performance of moderately physically demanding work, usually involving lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 25 pounds). Tasks that require moving objects of significant weight require the assistance of another person and/or use of proper techniques and moving equipment. Physical Requirements can be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations.
Environmental Requirements
Tasks are regularly performed in an air-conditioned office without exposure to adverse environmental conditions (e.g., dirt, heat, cold, rain, fumes).
Sensory Requirements
Some tasks require manual dexterity.

Salary/Rate of Pay: Starting at $50,000
